The blank slate is indeed problematic for those of us who believe in a God of design, inflecting his wonder into each human being.
I know a man with eight children, raised in a christian environment home schooled ....and every one of them is completely different from the other . I have a hard time believing each of them was a blank slate, yet they turned out so differently despite a near identical upbringing.
